Website Care Plans

Your site doesn't break in February. It breaks in June.

A broken contact form doesn't announce itself. There's no alert, no phone call, no error message you'd notice. There's just a quiet week where the leads stop, and by the time you realize the form hasn't sent an email since Tuesday, you've lost a week out of a fourteen-week selling season.

That's the part most contractors don't budget for. Not the hack. Not the crash. The slow, silent failure that happens while you're on a job site.

A care plan is the boring, reliable answer to that problem. Updates get installed. Backups run. Someone watches. And when something does go wrong, you have a number to call instead of an email thread with whoever built your site three years ago.

The Questions Worth Asking

  • If your website went down tonight, how long before you knew?

Most contractors find out from a customer. Sometimes days later.

  • Could you get it back?

Not "is there a backup somewhere". Could you actually restore it, this week, without losing the work?

  • Who updates the software?

WordPress, your theme, and every plugin release security patches on their own schedule. Out-of-date software is the number one reason small business sites get compromised.

  • And when you need a change, how long does it take?

This is the one we hear about most. A price update, a new service page, a photo swap before a big job goes live – and the person who built the site takes two weeks to answer, or answers and then takes two more to do it. By the time the change is live, the reason for it has passed.

If the answer is "I'll figure it out this weekend," that's a weekend you're not getting back. If the answer is "I emailed him, I'm waiting," that's worse.

What's Included in your Website Care Plan

Managed Hosting

Your site lives on a secure, monitored server built for speed. One less vendor, one less login, one less bill to track.

Daily Backups

A full copy of your site, stored off-site, every day. If something breaks, we roll it back.

Uptime and Security Monitoring

We watch the site around the clock. If it goes down, we know before you do.

Software Updates

WordPress core, theme, and plugins kept current and tested before they go live, so an update never takes your site down.

Privacy Policy and Cookie Notice

Privacy law is where small businesses get caught. A site running Google Analytics, a Facebook pixel, and a contact form is collecting visitor data, and a growing number of states require you to disclose that and give visitors a way to opt out. Demand letters over missing or outdated notices have become a routine business for certain law firms, and contractors are easy targets precisely because nobody told them this applied to them.

Your plan includes the policy and notice tools, kept in place and working. When the requirements change, we tell you what changed and what it means for your site, and we make the updates. What we can't do is take legal responsibility for your compliance, that stays with you, the same as it does with your insurance and your licensing. Our job is to make sure you're never the last to know.

Support Time Included

Real changes made by a real person. Price updates, photo swaps, seasonal hours. Just ask.

Monthly Report

A plain-language summary of what happened, what was updated, and how the site performed. No dashboard dump.

How Fast We Respond

Most of the contractors who come to us aren't leaving their web person over price. They're leaving because they stopped getting answers.

So here's what we commit to, in writing:

Essential plan – We acknowledge every request within one business day. Most routine changes are live within two to three business days.

Priority plan – We acknowledge same business day. Most routine changes are live within one business day.

Site down or a form not delivering – That's not a request, that's an emergency, and it gets handled immediately on either plan.

If something's going to take longer, you'll hear that from us up front with a real timeline. What you won't get is silence.

Website Care Plans

Included in both plans: Over $1,000 per year in premium plugin licenses, caching, SEO, image compression, form builders, and spam protection, covered as part of your plan.

No contract. Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice.

If We Didn't Build Your Site

We take over sites we didn't build. We just don't do it blind.

Every takeover starts with a Site Check, a one-time evaluation before the plan begins:

  • Full website evaluation covering user experience, conversion, SEO, accessibility, security, and WordPress health
  • Complete backup stored off-site for one year
  • Issues and recommendations, written plainly, so you know what you're sitting on
  • Two hours of improvements applied to what we find

It's how we avoid inheriting a problem and calling it maintenance. Once the Site Check is complete, your plan starts.

Who This Is For

Website Care Plans are for:

  • Contractors who own a website they like and want it maintained properly
  • Digital Roots clients who need their site handled alongside their local visibility work
  • Anyone currently maintaining their own site on weekends

You don't need this if you're in Growth Kit or Growth Accelerator. Hosting and maintenance are already included in both programs. If you're not sure what's covered in yours, ask us, we'd rather tell you than sell you something twice.

To Be Honest

A care plan won't grow your business. It isn't marketing, and we won't pretend otherwise.

What it does is protect the thing your marketing depends on. Every dollar you spend on SEO, ads, or content is routing traffic to one destination. If that destination is slow, broken, or offline, the spend is wasted, and you usually won't find out until the season's over.

That's the whole case for it. It's insurance on an asset you already paid for.

FAQ

Do I have to move my hosting?

Yes. Managed hosting is the foundation of the plan, it's what makes the backups, monitoring, and update testing possible. We handle the migration, and there's no downtime.

What counts as a support task?

Content changes, photo swaps, price updates, form adjustments, seasonal hours. Anything that's a change to your existing site. Larger projects — a redesign, a new section, a new page, a full rebuild — get quoted separately.

What if I don't use my support time?

It doesn't roll over, so an unused month is gone. That's not a technicality we're hiding, it's the reason to build the habit of sending small requests as they come up. The contractors who get the most out of these plans are the ones who ask for the little things instead of waiting until something's broken.

Can I upgrade to a Growth Program later?

Yes, and your care plan folds into it. Growth Kit and Growth Accelerator both include hosting and maintenance, so you'd stop paying separately for it.

Who's responsible for keeping my Privacy Policy compliant?

You are. That's not us dodging, it's how it works. Compliance obligations belong to the business collecting the data, and no vendor can assume that for you.

What we do is make sure it's never something you find out about too late. The policy and cookie notice are in place and functioning as part of your plan, we monitor for changes in the requirements, and when something shifts, we tell you plainly what changed and make the updates on your site. If a change calls for a decision that's genuinely legal, we'll say so and recommend you run it past an attorney rather than guess.

Do you only work with pool and landscape companies?

For marketing programs, yes. Care plans we'll extend to any small business we've built a site for, or that passes a Site Check.

What happens if my site gets hacked?

On the Priority plan, we scan for and remove malware at no additional charge. On Essential, we restore from a clean backup. Either way, you're not paying an emergency rate to a stranger at 11pm.

Not Sure What Shape Your Site Is In?

That's what the Site Check is for. We'll look at what you've got, tell you honestly what needs attention, and you can decide from there.
