Site Check
Before we take over your website, we look under the hood.
We don't put a site on a care plan sight unseen.
Not because we're precious about it, because taking responsibility for a website we've never opened is how agencies end up owning someone else's problems. If your site was built on a pirated theme, or running eleven plugins that do the same thing, or hasn't been backed up since it launched, that's worth knowing before we start rather than three months in when something breaks, and nobody's sure why.
The Site Check is how we find out. It's a one-time review of what you've actually got, delivered as a written report with clear action items. Then we spend two hours fixing what we found.
You keep the report either way, whether or not you move forward with a plan.
What We Look At
Build and construction
How the site was put together – theme, plugins, page builder, any custom code. We verify that every license is legitimate and current because unlicensed plugins stop receiving security updates, which is how sites get compromised.
Issues and errors
Broken forms, dead links, mixed content warnings, PHP errors, anything failing quietly in the background. Contact forms are the usual culprit. A form that stopped delivering three months ago looks completely normal from the front end.
Performance
Real load-time testing, not a grade from a free tool. Your site should be usable in about two seconds on a phone with two bars, because that's how a homeowner will actually see it, standing in their backyard, mid-conversation with you.
Security and backups
Current security setup, user accounts, file permissions, and whether your existing backups would actually restore. Plenty of sites have backups that have been silently failing for months. Nobody finds out until they need one.
Site Check
What You Get
A written report. PDF, in plain language, listing what we found and what it means. Not a scan dump with 340 warnings and no priorities – the things that actually matter, ranked, with what happens if you ignore them.
Two hours of fixes. We don't just hand you a list of problems. We spend two hours resolving the most important items we found. If there's more work than that, we'll quote it separately, and you decide.
An honest answer. Sometimes a Site Check turns up a site that isn't worth maintaining, built on something abandoned, or so far out of date that a rebuild costs less than patching. We'll tell you that. It's a worse outcome for us and the right answer for you.

Who Needs One
You need a Site Check if: we didn't build your site and you want it on a care plan.
You don't if: we built your site, or you're in Growth Kit or Growth Accelerator. Both programs already include hosting and maintenance, so there's nothing to hand over.
If you're not sure which applies to you, ask before you order. We'd rather answer the question than issue a refund.
FAQ
Why can't I just start a care plan?
Because "maintenance" means something different on a well-built site than on a broken one. If we take over a site with underlying problems, your first three months of support time get eaten up resolving things you didn't know were there – and you'd be paying a maintenance rate for repair work. The Site Check separates the two so you know what you're buying.
What if you find a lot of problems?
Then it was worth finding out. The report prioritizes everything, the two included hours go to the most urgent items, and anything remaining gets quoted so you can decide what's worth fixing and what can wait.
Does the $500 apply toward my plan?
No. It covers real work, and the report has value on its own. If you decide not to continue, you still have a clear picture of your site and two hours of improvements.
What do you need from me?
Admin login for WordPress and access to your hosting account. We'll send secure instructions after you order. You don't need to prepare anything or be available while we work.
Will my site go down while you're reviewing it?
No. The review is read-only. The two hours of fixes happen after you've seen the report and approved what we're doing.
What if my site isn't WordPress?
We'd need to talk first. Most contractor sites are WordPress, but if yours is on Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy's builder, or a proprietary platform from a previous agency, care plans work differently or may not apply. Book a call, and we'll sort it out before you spend anything.
Not sure it's worth it?
If your site is running fine and you have someone reliable maintaining it, it isn't. Keep what's working.
The Site Check is for when the honest answer to "who's maintaining this?" is nobody, or you, on weekends – or when it's technically somebody, but you've been waiting three weeks on a change you asked for once and then asked for again.
